Strategy, leadership and project management

Strategy, leadership and project management

About Østerby Consulting

I support organizations in three primary areas: 1) Strategy processes, 2) Competency development with a focus on leadership and project management, and 3) Coaching and advising both individuals and teams. These areas are often closely interconnected. While there are many useful models and tools within each field, I do not rely on standard solutions. Every engagement is tailored to your organization’s unique situation, challenges, and goals.

Strategy Processes

Strategy processes can vary from short workshops with a very specific focus to longer engagements that include strategic analysis, development, and implementation of the strategy. I can help your organization plan and facilitate a full strategy process – or support you with selected parts of it.

No two strategy processes are ever quite the same, as every organization and every challenge is different. However, I draw on a range of tried-and-tested methods, tools, and experience when designing a strategy process in close collaboration with my clients.

Get in touch if you need support with all or part of your strategy process.

Training and Development of Leaders and Employees

My primary focus is on leadership training and the development of project managers. I have trained hundreds of senior executives, middle managers, and team leaders.

Leadership training and development can provide new leaders with essential and foundational tools to ensure a strong start in their leadership roles.

For senior leaders, the focus is often more inward-looking—gaining insight into their own strengths and weaknesses in order to grow into a well-rounded and authentic leader.

Similarly, project management training may focus on basic project management tools, while other programs are designed to strengthen the leadership capabilities of project managers.

Coaching & Consulting

Coaching and consulting can create value for executives, team leaders, and specialists alike. Sometimes, the greatest benefit comes from working with an external coach who brings a fresh perspective, while in other situations, direct advice based on solid experience may be more helpful.

Coaching can be effective and valuable as a single session or as part of a longer process focused on achieving one or more specific goals.

A coaching program can also be based on a personality profile such as MBTI or a Hogan Assessment profile—one of the most comprehensive personality assessments available. I am certified in both tools.

About Lars Østerby

I help organizations develop and implement strategies, strengthen leadership competencies, and improve project management skills.

When it comes to strategy, this often entails processes ranging from strategic analysis to strategy development and implementation. However, it can also take the form of shorter initiatives—strategy workshops with a more specific focus.

For leadership and project management training, engagements can likewise span from long-term programs to a few days of training, or even a targeted workshop on a specific topic.

With over 28 years of experience as both a leader and consultant, I partner with my clients to create tailored solutions that make a real difference for their organizations, leaders, and employees.

My workshops and training courses are characterized by a dynamic and engaging approach, where learning is immediately applied in practice. I place great emphasis on fostering a serious yet informal atmosphere in which participants feel comfortable and motivated to contribute actively.
